{Wedding Wednesday} For The Groom
February 29, 2012

I really love boutonnieres. I love that they can really jazz up a suit and keep perfectly with the theme and color scheme of the wedding. Here are some of my absolute faves for the groom and his boys.

{Wedding Wednesday} Back To Back

Is it just me or is the back of a wedding dress just as important as the front? Especially if you’re going to be married in a church, people are going to be looking at your back for an awful lot of the ceremony… not to mention those people in the back row have a lot of looking to do before you get to the front of the aisle! Here are some of my absolute favorite backs of wedding dresses.

{Wedding Wednesday} Tablescapes

I love Wednesdays purely because of all the pretty coming from blogs that don’t typically feature weddings. Sometimes I talk about wedding style, and I think I need to start doing it more because so many people I know are getting engaged. I officially have wedding fever and I’m scaring the pants off of myself. Poor Andrew.

Anyway, I love pinning wedding related images because it’s so crazy how each and every couple comes up with a new idea. No two weddings are alike. I’ve been pinning a lot of tablescapes lately, it’s fun to see different color stories and favors and place settings. There are going to be an awful lot of rentals needed for my dream wedding, let me just tell you.

Nailed It
February 28, 2012

I’m totally obsessed with my nails lately. I just did this crazy red and black striped manicure last night and I’m sure I’ll be changing it again in a day or two. I’ve been browsing a million websites for inspiration and I realized that I absolutely love multi-colored nails. Forget using just one color!

Stella On The Outnet

Have you guys heard of The Outnet? Basically, it’s a online fashion outlet but for some of the best stuff. Designer pieces from Stella McCarney, Alexander Wang, Marni, McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Mulberry, and a ton more for typically 75% off. I’m in love! Stella McCartney on The Outnet just started today, and there’s a lot of really pretty lace for spring. Seriously, go get some.

I Need An Office

I feel stifled. I really dislike sitting on my computer on my bed or on the couch. I need a little corner somewhere that’s my own. Complete with an inspiration board, a really pretty white chair, and as many Russell & Hazel accessories I can possibly fit on the desk. Sigh, a girl can dream.

{Best Dressed} Oscars 2012
February 27, 2012

So did you watch last night? I was so excited I actually printed out ballots and made desserts that looked like little Oscar envelopes. Yes, I am insane. I think I’m the only one who is excited that The Artist won best picture. Excuse me but Jean Dujardin is amazing (aka kinda cute) and Uggie, c’mon how could you not give it to them? Oh, and the cinematography and all that jazz was good to, or something.

Anyway, here are my best dressed picks from last night. Three for being a little daring (Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Chastain, & Rooney Mara) and two for just looking super classy (Tina Fey & Mila Jovovich). I can’t get over this cape on Gwyneth, she looks amazing and Jessica Chastain’s bespoke Alexander McQueen is just off the charts!

Apparently I like black, navy, and white… who would have thought? Anyway I wanted to mention that I’m leaving Angelina out because her leg was bothering me but MAN OH MAN she looked good. I swear the woman isn’t human, it’s kind of gross. I love Michelle Williams I just wasn’t too thrilled with all of the fabric on her dress, I think the peplum would have been enough!

{Currently Coveting} J. Crew Must Haves

Spring is right around the corner. As soon as the J. Crew March catalog comes out I’m officially in Spring mode. This years is probably the best J. Crew catalog I’ve ever seen. Tons of bright colors and bold prints, perfect in every way. If you can keep it to just five items to purchase for spring, these have got to be them.

1: No. 2 Pencil Skirt.

Iconic and easy to wear, a pencil skirt looks good on any shape or size. I love the texture of this lace and navy (or red) is so great for spring. It’s perfect paired with a light sweater, striped tee, or gingham button down.

2: Scalloped Shorts.

Do I need to explain why you need these shorts? I love the scallop detail added to this super casual look. Plus, they aren’t too short to wear to any and every occasion.

3: Sun Kissed Trouser.

This might be the best yellow I have seen so far this season. Tailored perfectly and hitting at just the right spot on the ankle, these are ideal for brunch.

4: Shirred Maxi.

Who doesn’t like maxis? This one has just the right thickness and just the right amount of volume. You can see it paired perfectly with a coral button down tied at the waist on the cover of the March catalog.

5: Double Strand Resin Necklace.

To be honest I don’t usually splurge on jewelry but this is necessary for spring and summer. I always love double strand necklaces but this one is a whole new obsession. Great color pairing and perfect length!

You & I
February 24, 2012

I love love. Does that make sense? Here are some of my absolute favorite shots of people in love. I had to throw a couple of ampersands in there because I also love them and everything they represent. Me & You. You & I. Mr & Mrs.

Friday Night Lights

I know you all notice that one girl who decided to wear a sequined dress out on a Friday night. I can spot a girl in gold sequins from a mile away, and I love it! Sometimes though, those sequined dresses can look cheesy and like they belong in a 12 year old’s dance recital. I have had these four dresses in my sights for a while now. Can you say ideal party dress? With an amazing pair of black heels and a black clutch you have the perfect dress to catch those Friday night lights just right.
