I don’t mean to alarm you all but a week from today it’s Christmas Eve. Time is flying by and if you’re anything like me presents are almost but not completely purchased. It’s time to grab some last minute items and I felt the need to create the most sparkly gift guide ever. No matter what your price range is, there’s something glittery and gold for all of the ladies on your list. Now get to it!

A Glitter & Gold Wedding
December 12, 2012

You’ve all heard about my wedding plans and I am so excited to get to all of the little details. Like how to incorporate glitter and gold into my wedding, of course. I can’t stop pinning photos of gold cakes, it’s kind of becoming an obsession. Can we talk about how I’m going to have to have ten cakes to make sure I cover all my bases?

Hurricane Prep
November 7, 2012

As you all already know I’ve been in the dark for the last week. After these nine days I’ve decided I’m going to turn into a mixture of Katniss from The Hunger Games and Scott from Doomsday Preppers to prepare for the future. If “glamping” exists there is totally a way to make doomsday prepping chic. First step is power outage preparedness. Before the storm I stocked up on candles and votives for all of the tea lights. I decided on mercury glass so that I could make sure to have a little ambiance in the apartment despite the frigid cold. I figure that I wanted to make it look like we intended to have all of the lights off! One of the other most important items was my Target knit throw (what a good buy a week before the storm) but I’m loving this Jonathan Adler chevron blanket. Pajamas are also really important to me. If I’m going to shower and get back into pajamas from pajamas I better have a few options. Jersey PJ pants are always my favorite, and I always like the option of a hoodie, that’s for sure. I’m so lucky to be in a position where my house is still standing and I can think about things like cute candles, pajamas, and throws, but there are a lot of people who have nothing left. Click here to donate to the Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Sandy get back on their feet.

Apartment, Finally
July 23, 2012

After seeing my initial inspiration post, and another one, and then my inspiration boards you guys all already know what the plan was for our new apartment. Maybe it’s because I prepared you guys for a month and a half but I feel obligated to share photos (or maybe I just really want to). Typically I’m a perfectionist that wouldn’t allow photos until I actually felt like something was 100% finished. But, I love this living room! It’s far from finished and even farther from perfect, but it came together nicely and it was nice to relax here last night after the initial moving day stress was over. Granted, the other rooms are even less finished. Our bed is on the floor, we are using boxes as night stands, and nothing is where it should be. BUT we have each other, and a super cute couch that I can’t get over. Things will slowly start coming together and it’s going to be a really exciting time for us. I’m sure to be posting more photos on instagram soon, so you should follow me @glitterandgoldblog.

A Glitter & Gold Event
July 18, 2012

I stumbled across these images on Style Me Pretty and can’t get over how amazing this party would be. Talk about the best launch party for the cutest business EVER… or my business, whatever. Talk about “glitter and gold”!

{Wedding Wednesday} Tablescapes
February 29, 2012

I love Wednesdays purely because of all the pretty coming from blogs that don’t typically feature weddings. Sometimes I talk about wedding style, and I think I need to start doing it more because so many people I know are getting engaged. I officially have wedding fever and I’m scaring the pants off of myself. Poor Andrew.

Anyway, I love pinning wedding related images because it’s so crazy how each and every couple comes up with a new idea. No two weddings are alike. I’ve been pinning a lot of tablescapes lately, it’s fun to see different color stories and favors and place settings. There are going to be an awful lot of rentals needed for my dream wedding, let me just tell you.

Interior Inspiration
September 3, 2011
One of my favorite recent trends in interior design is chevron. Whether it’s painted on a wall, tiled on the floor, or used as accents in a rug or chair, chevron will be making an appearance in my life very, very soon. I don’t know how I’ve held off for so long.

Big Ideas
April 6, 2011

Since Andrew and I moved into our apartment only 5 short months ago, I’ve had grand ideas of how to make our cute little space even cuter. The majority of our furniture has been “borrowed” from our parents, purchased from “The Pit” at Bob’s Discount Furniture or the Habitat for Humanity Re-store (which I am a HUGE fan of not only because of the fantastic cause but because they have some great pieces like a solid oak bed frame and a solid cherry trunk from 1939). Our dining room and bedroom look great, not to toot my own horn or anything! My issue lies with the living room though. We were lucky enough to have a couch, chair, ottoman, and coffee table from my parents and two end tables from Andrew’s parents which make the room look cozy, and quite nice for the $0 spent!! I have so many ideas in my head that I wish I could execute, but the dollars just aren’t there at this point. The plus side of all of this is that I’ve had more time then the average person to really decide what I’d like to do with the living room. We have such a great space here and I want to make the best of it! I continually spend time researching color palettes, furniture options, and layouts and here are some images that are really inspiring me to get started on the living room makeover.
