I love everything about Christmas, including the influx of fair isle sweaters. There is a very fine line between ugly Christmas sweater party sweaters and awesome Christmas sweaters though, and I’m here to bridge that gap. I’m not sure if this is actually appropriate coming from someone who has worn a Santa hat at some point everyday since December 1st, but I digress. I don’t mean to alarm you all but a week from today it’s Christmas Eve. Time is flying by and if you’re anything like me presents are almost but not completely purchased. It’s time to grab some last minute items and I felt the need to create the most sparkly gift guide ever. As the holidays are quickly approaching I’ve been bundling up with beanies and lots of layers, taking time to actually do my hair in those oh so fantastic beachy waves, and decorating like crazy. Over the weekend Andrew and I picked up our Christmas tree! I love Christmas so much and putting on our santa hats and decorating is something I really cherish. I’m very lucky to get the chance to do that every Christmas for the rest of my life! Now it’s time to work on the rest of the apartment. All the candles will be switching to Christmas scents, stockings will be hung, presents will be wrapped (in metallic wrapping paper and twine), flowers will be red, and hot cocoa will be made on a daily basis. Tis the season!
I don’t typically do gift guide posts but if you guys are anything like me this year, Thanksgiving really snuck up on you. I can’t believe it’s in two days… which means black Friday is practically here. I know people say it’s ridiculous to wait on line to attribute to the greediness of our country but I have just two words to say to that, BAH HUMBUG! I love giving gifts during the holidays, and it’s fun to wake up in the middle of the night to get someone something special. I try to make a gift guide for myself each year before I go shopping. It’s easier for me to focus when I have a list of people and an idea of what I want to get them. So here is this years:
I hate how the second New Year’s day passes all holiday music stops and all decorations come down. Can’t we hold onto the holidays just a little bit longer? I always get excited around the holidays for all the bright and festive nail colors. Typically people will go red, which is what I intended to do today when I walked into the salon. But it seems like every two weeks the Shellac gel color options grow. So, instead of red I went with one coat of white and two coats of gold sparkle. I die!!
