Boo!
October 31, 2012

Happy Halloween lovelies, I hope you all have fun plans for tonight even though it’s a Wednesday! I’m a huge advocate of Halloween always being on a Friday… is that possible? No? Boo. I’m going to see the Smashing Pumpkins tonight in Brooklyn which I couldn’t be more excited about. Talk about the perfect band to see on Halloween. Billy Corgan couldn’t look more like Jack The Pumpkin King if he tried! What are your plans?

{DIY} Jewelry Organization
October 30, 2012

A lot of people have been asking me about this necklace organization I made. After making something similar for my sunglasses, I decided I needed a better way to display my necklaces for easy access in the morning when I’m getting ready. Here’s a few quick and easy steps to make this for yourself.

What you’ll need:
1. A wooden (must be wooden, won’t work otherwise) frame
2. A screwdriver
3. A tape measure if you don’t feel comfortable “eyeing” it
4. Five hooks in gold or silver depending on your preference
5. Two brackets and screws to enable you to hang the frame on the wall

Step One:
Take the glass and backing out of the frame, you will just be using the outside portion. Determine where the two brackets will go. I put mine about one inch from the end on each side.

Step Two:
Put the bracket onto the frame and screw in to secure. Do this on both sides.

Step Three:
Once you have the brackets secured, mark with a marker where you want each of the hooks to go.

Step Four:
Push {really} hard and screw the hooks into the wooden frame. Make sure they are facing to the front of the frame when you can’t turn anymore.

Step Five:
Once you have all the hooks in, I will leave this up to you. I just hammered two nails into the wall and hung the frame up. There are multiple ways you can go about securing it… including leaving out the bracket portion all together and just using double sided tape!

Step Six:
You’re done! Now you get to the good part. Go ahead and style!

What A Stud
June 7, 2012

I’m officially obsessed with studs. I blame Pinterest. I now have crazy DIYs running through my head at all times… all of which involve studding everything I own.20120607-071824.jpg

Let’s Have A Party
April 26, 2012

Do you ever just want to have a party? I woke up this morning in the mood to entertain. Sometimes, I just get the fever! At this point, I don’t even care who it’s for… I would throw a strangers birthday party if they let me plan it from start to finish. You can be sure there will be plenty of desserts and drinks, big balloons, and lots and lots of streamers.

Thanksgiving Place Cards
November 22, 2011

I’m really excited to share with you the project I did today for our Thanksgiving table. I saw this post on Cupcakes and Cashmere last year, and remembered how much I loved the idea of pine cone place cards. I put my own little spin on it but here it goes!

I started with pine cones, raffia, and an amazing piece of card stock with raised polka dots. I drew circles onto the paper and then just free handed the names of my five guests with a fine point Sharpie. Then, I cut out the circles and punched a small hole at the top left of each.

I then threaded a piece of raffia through the hole and around the pine cone. It doesn’t really matter how long the raffia is, it depends on how many times you want to wrap it around. Then, tie in a bow and you’re finished! Here is my finished product. The entire Thanksgiving tablescape featuring these place cards will be here tomorrow!

Wishy Washi
September 25, 2011

Washi Tape could very well be the next big thing in the wedding/event world. Let me start from the beginning… Japanese Washi Tape is basically just multi-use adhesive tape. It’s taking over the DIY world with its seemingly endless uses. It’s perfect for taking plain jane vases, glasses, favors, pumpkins, candles, etc  to a new level. Here are some really great examples of DIY Washi Tape projects.
