Did you take dance lessons when you were little? I did for about 12 years and although I preferred jazz and tap as I got older, I loved listening to French tapes teaching me to pirouette. What really struck me today when I saw this first image is that when I was little I used to wear that tutu everywhere I possibly could. I loved how it looked when I twirled and I loved how I couldn’t put my hands down because it would get in the way. It’s no wonder why I ended up the way I am today… fashion is always greater than comfort, right?! So how do you channel that inner ballerina now? At five or six years old it was perfectly acceptable for me to run around the grocery store in my pretty pink tutu, but how does the 24 year old me pull that off? Leave it to Catherine Sheppard of The Life Styled to show us all. It may be feathers v. the traditional tulle but it totally serves my fashion purposes. If I were her I’d be wearing that baby everywhere!
I’m seriously obsessed with the Met Gala and for the past three years I’ve had to work late on the day of and couldn’t get over there to see the tents and certainly not any gowns. I was waiting not so patiently to get off of a conference call that just so happened to be at the exact time everyone was entering. I swear this gala is so much better then any red carpet I’ve seen. Donna Karan Atelier, Lanvin, Prada, and of course Marchesa galore. Here are some of the highlights:
Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren

Jessica Pare in L’Wren Scott

Emma Stone in Lanvin

Amy Adams in Giambattista Vali

Katherine McPhee in Elie Saab

Kate Bosworth in Prada

Nina Dobrev in Donna Karen Atelier

Diane Kruger in Prada

Victoria Justice in MCQ

Lana Del Ray in Altuzarra

I’ve been so busy lately and I’ve been neglecting my Twitter and Pinterest pretty seriously. I’ve kept up with blog posts luckily, thanks so some serious insomnia that hits at approximately 3am every morning. The good thing about said insomnia is that 3am New York time is 9am Paris time and my Twitter feed is filled with photos of croissants, Parisian architecture, and of course outfit photos via Instagram as everyone makes their way to the shows. I wonder if you guys can guess my four favorites. Probably, I’m super predictable when it comes to Paris, and fashion week, and colors.
Louis Vuitton

Chloe

Alexander McQueen

Chanel

Asking a restaurant in New Jersey to turn on the Golden Globes instead of a post game recap after a Giants win may sound crazy but that’s exactly what I did on Sunday. Big thanks to East LA in Hoboken for humoring my fashion obsession! I very quickly knew who my best dressed would be. There was so much fantastic styling this year (Jessica Alba was legit glowing) but Claire Danes, Nicole Kidman, Evan Rachel Wood, and Emma Stone were my absolute favorites.

Although I don’t consider Jessica Alba best dressed, I think she is absolutely the best styled. Everything was perfect thanks to Brad Goreski!
Ever since going to Paper Source in LA with Catherine and Renee Zellweger (okay, Renee may have already been there when we walked in) I’ve been obsessing over holiday gift wrapping. Catherine’s plans for a white and silver theme got me thinking about the gifts under my own tree. Here’s some inspiration for my holiday gifts, and you can bet that no matter what color scheme I choose I’ll be tying in gold!
