Style Me Pretty (both the site and the book) have been a huge inspiration to me while starting my wedding planning. I’m constantly stumbling upon inspirational photos of dresses, flowers, tablescapes… you name it. But yesterday I stumbled upon a styled shoot that I loved every. single. photo of. Okay, everyone. It’s time for a wedding update. We are going to see three venues this weekend and I’m really hoping one of these will blow us away. I want to give you guys an idea of what we’re looking at so here we go.

So what do you think? They are all very different from each other so I’m hoping we will be blown away by one and can sign on the dotted line. So far our search has come up empty… it’s a very tough thing to find where you want to start the rest of your life. I want it to be very intimate and personal and I don’t get that from the majority of the places we have seen. Wish us luck!
You’ve all heard about my wedding plans and I am so excited to get to all of the little details. Like how to incorporate glitter and gold into my wedding, of course. I can’t stop pinning photos of gold cakes, it’s kind of becoming an obsession. Can we talk about how I’m going to have to have ten cakes to make sure I cover all my bases?
Wedding Wednesday takes on a new meaning now that I’m engaged. When I look at wedding blogs like Style Me Pretty and Grey Likes Weddings (a new favorite), I can’t help but envision what our day will look like. You can take a look at my n&a board on Pinterest to see what I’m pinning along the way but here is my first wedding inspiration board, crazy huh?
Today is my birthday. Hard to believe another year has passed. Lots has changed… as things do in a year… and I’m excited to start my twenty four year old life. Starting by heading to the beach, then dinner with a really great friend and her (also really great) boyfriend. Possibly wearing a tulle ball gown, or not. I wish I could pull off a balloon skirt like this lovely lady. I do have the Ban.do bow headband ready to go though!
Can’t believe it’s almost July already, my birthday is on Tuesday! I love that my birthday is the 3rd of July. It means that I will always have off the day after if it falls during the week. If I was having a birthday party, this is what I would do. For some reason I’m really feeling pink today. I won’t be having one this year, but maybe next year I’ll pull out all the stops!
My grandparent’s 65th wedding anniversary is coming up in July. My Grandma (who is 91 and yells in French) and my Grandpa (ex U.S. Navy Special Ops and semi pro football player) are the perfect example of a lasting marriage. I always love looking at photos of my Grandpa in his Navy days, but they have always been very secretive about their wedding. They won’t tell us the exact date of their anniversary, but they were kind enough to send over some photos after a afternoon of questioning from my Dad and I. I had to share them with you because they are completely amazing. I wish I could go back in time and watch from afar. Wasn’t my Grandpa handsome?
I’ve been obsessing, just a little, over floral halos on brides. Maybe it’s because I remember begging my parents to buy me one at the renaissance faire so that I could be a princess, or maybe it’s because I’m just obsessed with “bohemian” weddings. Don’t you want to run barefoot in a field just looking at these brides? I know I do!
