Wedding Update
January 15, 2013

Ummm guys, I have some pretty big news. We are waiting to hear back from a caterer for some info but I think we’ve found the place. I’m about to faint because I was thinking this would never happen. Andrew and I are SO picky. He wanted to get married on a mountain, I wanted the reception either completely outside or in a barn, and this place is the best of both worlds. A totally gorgeous wedding in the Catskills… ceremony on a hill with the mountains in the background or in a pine grove, wedding reception outside (twinkle lights and all), dancing inside the barn. Night ends with a bonfire and wish lantern lighting. Get. Out. Of. Here.

Holiday Cheer
December 3, 2012

Over the weekend Andrew and I picked up our Christmas tree! I love Christmas so much and putting on our santa hats and decorating is something I really cherish. I’m very lucky to get the chance to do that every Christmas for the rest of my life! Now it’s time to work on the rest of the apartment. All the candles will be switching to Christmas scents, stockings will be hung, presents will be wrapped (in metallic wrapping paper and twine), flowers will be red, and hot cocoa will be  made on a daily basis. Tis the season!

Nicholas K: Spring 2013
September 11, 2012

I love layers, draping, and a color story so Nicholas K is absolutely perfect for me. The simple silhouettes are really what’s getting me… and layering them all on top of each other in similar tones of tan, camel, and brown or grays and olive greens is genius. I don’t typically like shorts with long sleeve tops but Nicholas K makes it look so right. Besides, if you show me a slouchy hood or beanie and I’m all in!

Surprise, Surprise
July 10, 2012

Wow, I stumbled upon this via Refinery 29′s Pinterest and couldn’t believe my eyes. That cute little outfit was L.L. Bean Signature (seriously)… and they have a whole lot of other cute little outfits I’m super excited to share with you guys. An awful lot of them are on sale too. Get on over there before everyone realizes what I did yesterday!

Office Dressing
March 26, 2012

Things were crazy my first five days in a new office with a new role! My desk is all set up now thanks to some seriously pretty office supplies from The Container Store. I love that I don’t have the same supplies as everyone else, bringing your own can really make a cube feel like home (sort of).

I’ve picked up the style of the other people in my office and unfortunately it’s a mixed bag. Seems like half of the girls wear “trendy” clothes, lots of colored jeans and Zara… then the other half wears very “office appropriate” clothes, lots of pencil skirts and heels. I’m going with trendy or else I’d be bored in a week. Like I said last Sunday, I’ve decided to lay everything out for the week to come so yesterday I worked on that for this week. The weather being in the 50s and 60s mean a lot more options to layer. I’m taking inspiration from these lovely ladies this week.

Apologies
March 19, 2012

You’ll have to forgive me, it’s my first week at a new job and I spent my entire weekend getting prepared (mentally and physically) for all of the new things happening around here. This week I’ll be MIA, but I can promise that over the weekend I will fully prepare myself and have plenty of posts lined up for the week!

Yesterday, I spent a few hours laying out my outfits for this week. This included accessories and shoes so obviously it took me a while. I’ve decided that going into this I’m going to be as organized as humanly possible. Lunches will be made in advance, tote bag filled with necessities the night before, and all outfits chosen. I’m excited about the prospect of having a clear head when I wake up. I know what I’ll be wearing I just have to throw it on and get into work mode. Yipee!

I hope you all had a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day. I’m half Irish so I love this holiday, it means family comes over and we eat corned beef (I know, totally unnecessary). Then I headed out to an authentic Irish bar complete with men drinking Guinness and eating beef stew while wearing green plastic hats… fantastic! I wore a green silk button down from J. Crew, but now that I think about it, I would have loved to be wearing this…

All Things Zara
March 15, 2012

The best place to get manicures near my house is inside a mall in NJ; weird, I know. I tend to park near Zara (unintentionally) every single time I go there. On Sunday I tweeted “why must I always park near Zara… eyes down, just get to the nail salon” but I didn’t make it. I of course headed in and found the greatest group of products Zara has ever had. Typically I’ll pick up a few pieces and put them back down because I’m totally indecisive. This time, I must have picked up everything in the store and it pained me to put them back. So many hi-lo (mullet) dresses with cute cutouts, sheer button downs, sequined collars, bright pants, and gorgeous sandals!

Going Green
March 2, 2012

Tomorrow in Hoboken there is a huge St. Patrick’s Day “party”. Despite the rain forecast, tons of people will be headed that way to celebrate and all of them will be wearing green. I’m assuming there will be a whole lot of “Kiss Me I’m Irish” t-shirts happening. So how do you flaunt your heritage without wearing a kids sized t-shirt out in public?

{Wedding Wednesday} Tablescapes
February 29, 2012

I love Wednesdays purely because of all the pretty coming from blogs that don’t typically feature weddings. Sometimes I talk about wedding style, and I think I need to start doing it more because so many people I know are getting engaged. I officially have wedding fever and I’m scaring the pants off of myself. Poor Andrew.

Anyway, I love pinning wedding related images because it’s so crazy how each and every couple comes up with a new idea. No two weddings are alike. I’ve been pinning a lot of tablescapes lately, it’s fun to see different color stories and favors and place settings. There are going to be an awful lot of rentals needed for my dream wedding, let me just tell you.

Go Bright
February 23, 2012

Piperlime is always my go to for shoes. I can compare a million different brands and styles and really get into what I’m looking for. For spring, I’m looking for color blocked sandals. As you all know, I’m trying desperately to add color to my wardrobe. So in the spring when I feel like I need to wear all black, I can throw on a great pair of bright sandals and still have a pop of color or in this case colors. Color blocking is one of my favorite trends, so I’m happy there are about a million color blocked shoe options. Here are my favorites.
