Not me, that’s for sure. As soon as we have a few good spring days here in New York, I know the summer weather isn’t far behind. Although I wish we could have a longer spring, it just hasn’t been in the cards the last few years and I doubt it will be this time! As other girls break out the short shorts, you can find me in cropped pants and dresses. Although I don’t typically have a problem with my no shorts rule, there are a few ladies out there who make me second guess myself. Are you a shorts girl or not?

Last week I talked a little about “that” skirt and same goes for this hat. Not everyone can pull it off but I sure do want to be one of the people who can. With this gross NYC weather happening I think we will have a few more weeks to practice the trend, unfortunately.

I can’t even believe how good the NYFW go-ers outfits were. This fashion week was extra tough because of the snow, so I love checking out how everyone worked with the bitter cold and ice patches at Lincoln Center. Of course there were parkas, fur hats and scarves, gloves, and layers upon layers… but then there were the out of the box-ers who didn’t act like there was a snowflake on the ground. Here are my absolute favorites.

First of all, it’s starting to get festive here in NYC… Christmas decorations are going up everywhere and people are beginning to holiday shop. It’s my absolute favorite time of year here on the East Coast! The month of December will be filled with drinks under heat lamps in Bryant Park, ice skating in Rockefeller Center, and hot chocolate near the fireplace so I will need some go to pieces to pair with what is currently in my closet. Fall has always been my favorite season. I love when deep colors and lots of layers are finally socially acceptable again. I’m sure you’re not at all surprised that oxblood has been my favorite fall trend this year. Whether it’s a scarf, a blouse, jeans, a skirt,  a bag, lips, or nails… oxblood is the perfect way to add a taste of fall to any outfit. Here are some of the items on my wish list for this season. I got stuck in this crazy tsunami/monsoon/hurricane thing twice today. Feels like these clouds are following me! Let me tell you, I do not remain chic when I am caught in pouring, heavy rain even despite an umbrella (the second I opened it it bent completely in half). Don’t you wish you looked like this after a rain storm comes passing through? I do.

Hope you all had a great weekend! It went a little too quickly for my liking, but don’t they all? Over the weekend I found a lot of gorgeous vintage images and was pinning away, as usual. I started to notice that there are a lot of fabrics, patterns, and silhouettes that are similar to modern dressing. Obviously, today everything is a lot different. Instead of a fur stole for instance, we might wear a fur collar. Check out some of my favorite looks, then vs. now.

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a fantastic week. I finally got an iPad! I bought one for Andrew for his birthday last weekend, and after spending a few hours on it I knew I had to hop aboard the train. I use that metaphor because this is day three and it has made my commuting life, on the train, so much easier. I can dedicate more time to Glitter & Gold and that’s always a good thing!
