NYFW Street Style
February 18, 2013

I can’t even believe how good the NYFW go-ers outfits were. This fashion week was extra tough because of the snow, so I love checking out how everyone worked with the bitter cold and ice patches at Lincoln Center. Of course there were parkas, fur hats and scarves, gloves, and layers upon layers… but then there were the out of the box-ers who didn’t act like there was a snowflake on the ground. Here are my absolute favorites.

Minty Fresh
January 29, 2013

This NYC weather the past week has been killing me. Bitterly cold with even colder wind gusts. Let’s just say I’m really looking forward to spring. Coach is helping me do that with their newest color addition… mint. It’s such a pretty color and so refreshing! My wardrobe will be full of it as soon as the thermometer goes down a whole lot of degrees. Check out some of the options Coach has on the site now, and get your pre-Spring shopping on. The Romy top handle (top left) is my absolute favorite, closely followed by the Penny and Mini Tanner. What’s your favorite?

Coach Pre-Fall 2013
January 14, 2013

Coach held their Pre-Fall 2013 press previews and I was lucky enough to meet with the lovely PR team and catch a glimpse of some of the gorgeous styles. There are so many great silhouettes and I was specifically blown away by the color. So many great options from updated neutrals like a light camel and blush to really fantastic color blocking (think fuchsia and red) are filling the showroom. And don’t get me started on mens… I’ll probably be snatching up a lot of that too! Here are my three favorites (sorry for the iPhone pics), what do you think?

Boot Resolution
January 3, 2013

I have a confession to make. I never, and I mean never, wear appropriate footwear. It all went downhill when my Catholic high school told me I couldn’t wear backless shoes. Well you know what, I want to wear Birkenstocks, damnit! From then on, I was on a mission to choose the opposite shoe of what would be suitable. Going snow tubing? Converse. Twenty degrees? Ballet flats. Walking miles around the city? Five inch heels. Duh.

One of my new year’s resolutions is to start wearing appropriate footwear and this begins with embracing the boot. My feet are freezing, and it’s time to release the flats and pumps for the winter. Shouldn’t be too hard to transition if I pick up a pair or two of these…

{Outfit Post} Ombre
December 27, 2012

This ombre wall across the street from my apartment building was just begging for an outfit post, don’t you think?

I hope you all had a great holiday! I took a little bit of time off from blogging to celebrate with my family and with the future in laws. We have been on a Christmas celebrating marathon since the 22nd and Andrew and I were happy to find ourselves sitting on the couch watching movies as the snow fell last night. Andrew went back to work this morning but I’m off for the rest of the week so you know my days will be filled with wedding craziness! FYI: I was given the Style Me Pretty book (like I don’t spend enough time on the website) and there’s so much inspiration in that bad boy I’m going to explode. To keep you updated, wedding venue we loved didn’t end up working out so we are back to the drawing board and in overdrive this time. Wish us luck finding somewhere this weekend!

{Outfit Post} Chilly
December 19, 2012

If you are in the NYC area you know how weird this weather has been. It’s December, we need to make up our minds! One day it’s freezing rain and the next it’s 55. In my opinion if it’s December there should just be a nice sprinkling of pretty, sparkly snow everyday. Anyway, I’ve been talking about doing outfit posts for a while, but just never got the nerve to… so here goes my first ever outfit post taken in the frigid cold.

Get The Look
December 11, 2012

I stumbled across this image on pinterest yesterday and fell in love with this look. As a proponent of mixing feminine and masculine pieces in each and every outfit, I thought this was the perfect combination.

For me, a full blown girly lace dress wouldn’t work. Plus, its frigid in NYC. So this is how I would wear her look. Leather and lace is always an amazing combination and you can’t go wrong with a pom pom beanie in my book. As for the beauty portion, her look just to happens to be my winter go to. You can’t live without Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer. It’s the easiest way to keep your skin from getting dry from the winter weather while still providing coverage. Lip stains are perfect for winter because glosses can’t hold up to the wind situation always happening here and I’ve learned that winter it the time to embrace messy hair. Bumble & Bumble surf hair allows for perfect wind blown hair that looks purposeful.

Leather Lover
November 19, 2012

So far this fall my leather jacket has been my go to. I have paired it with everything from suit pants for market week to a dotted H&M dress to a maxi skirt and v-neck tee. It’s always the best way to keep warm and remain stylish. Here are some of my favorite ways to wear leather:

FNO 2012
September 4, 2012

The weather report isn’t looking great for this Thursday, so my typical outfit prep must change. Schlepping around Soho in heels just won’t work this year so I’m preparing for the worst. How do you make an outfit for hailing cabs and store hopping in the pouring rain work for champagne and shopping once inside? My night so far includes Coach, Phillip Lim, Alice + Olivia, Stella McCartney, and Marc Jacobs so I’ll definately need these FNO staples to get me by.
