When I have the opportunity to be lackadaisical (I much prefer that word over lazy), I take it. In the rare, fleeting moments when I have not one thing to do you can find me lounging on the couch… magazine in hand. I’ve been searching for the very, very basics lately to upgrade my lackadaisical wardrobe from drab to fab (oh how cliché). I’m in the market for cozy tees in white, black and gray, off the shoulder sweaters, and cute knit shorts to lounge around in. What I’ve found is blowing my mind. Who knew lazy days could look so good?
Hope you all had a great weekend! It went a little too quickly for my liking, but don’t they all? Over the weekend I found a lot of gorgeous vintage images and was pinning away, as usual. I started to notice that there are a lot of fabrics, patterns, and silhouettes that are similar to modern dressing. Obviously, today everything is a lot different. Instead of a fur stole for instance, we might wear a fur collar. Check out some of my favorite looks, then vs. now.

In doing research for this afternoon’s polka dot fashion post I decided I really need to talk about polka dot wedding ideas too. I won’t describe my love for polka dots to you again but to me there is nothing cuter then a swiss dot birdcage veil!! Oh and by the way, have you noticed that I now have a Facebook page? Head on over and click “like” for daily updates and posts!

Three years ago, Catherine of The Life Styled had little swiss dots all over her wedding dress. Once again the girl was way ahead of her time because dots seem to be showing up everywhere now! One of my resolutions this year was to add more polka dots into my life, and specifically my wardrobe. Since I like to stick with dark or muted colors, polka dots can add a lot of visual interest to my outfits. Here are my favorite ways to inject a cute little polka dot into my world everyday!

On days like today in New York (pouring rain and very thick fog) I long for bright colors to fill the landscape. Right now, the only thing I can think about is yellow. I’m looking forward to Spring when yellow tulips will pop up all over my front yard… which also makes me think of Spring weddings. Hopefully these images take you to a happier, brighter, and warmer place!

Have you heard of Olive? I’m completely smitten. It’s like they’ve taken everything I would ever want to wear and put it onto one website! Here are some of my favorite looks from Olive’s blog but make sure to head on over and check it out for yourself. You won’t regret it!

For the next few days, I’ll be talking about some of my favorite fall trends. First up, polka dots. I’ve always been a fan but there are so many designers really stepping away from the conventional polka dot. Marc Jacobs, for instance. Here are some great examples of “polka dot” fall fashion.
