The Governors Ball was in New York over the weekend, and if you were anywhere near New York on Friday when a monsoon came through you know how much of a muddy mess it was. There were a lot of ladies who took style chances despite the crazy weather and I salute them… I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been able to do the same! Check out some of my favorites from NY Mag. Not me, that’s for sure. As soon as we have a few good spring days here in New York, I know the summer weather isn’t far behind. Although I wish we could have a longer spring, it just hasn’t been in the cards the last few years and I doubt it will be this time! As other girls break out the short shorts, you can find me in cropped pants and dresses. Although I don’t typically have a problem with my no shorts rule, there are a few ladies out there who make me second guess myself. Are you a shorts girl or not?
I can honestly say I own nothing leopard. I really need to start embracing patterns and I think leopard (or “ocelot”) is a great place to start. Whether it’s a pump, flat, or scarf, I feel like leopard can inject a little something fun into my wardrobe. When I have the opportunity to be lackadaisical (I much prefer that word over lazy), I take it. In the rare, fleeting moments when I have not one thing to do you can find me lounging on the couch… magazine in hand. I’ve been searching for the very, very basics lately to upgrade my lackadaisical wardrobe from drab to fab (oh how cliché). I’m in the market for cozy tees in white, black and gray, off the shoulder sweaters, and cute knit shorts to lounge around in. What I’ve found is blowing my mind. Who knew lazy days could look so good?
Harper’s Bazaar, I freakin’ love you. You’re extremely well curated fifty four images of couture street style are making me swoon. Don’t get me wrong, my eyes were glued to many a show coming from Milan, Sao Paulo, and Paris this season but for me street style is what I’m always waiting for. How to actually make it work in real life. Runway to sidewalk, on different body shapes (oh who am I kidding, 99% of them are models), Harper’s Bazaar documents it best.

I don’t typically wear shorts, even on the hottest of days. I have a feeling that this summer is going to be an exceptionally hot one though, as shown by this past weekends 90 degree Sunday. I took the plunge and ordered a pair of these boyfriend shorts from Gap, the neon pink pair to be exact. Funny thing was, my Mom also saw them online and bought me two pairs on the same day without knowing I had ordered the originals… love her! It was a good thing I liked them because now I couldn’t be more excited to have three pairs at the ready. They are not only the perfect length but the most comfortable shorts I’ve ever worn. I know a lot of people are saying the arm party is over, and I somewhat agree. I’m not the biggest fan of wrists being jam packed with chunky bracelets but in clothing and accessories, I’m all about the layers. A spiked, grungy bracelet stacked with more delicate chains or a watch (gold of course) is my absolute favorite. Here are some of the best ways to do this, in my opinion. Just the right amount of attitude!
It’s hot. 86 degrees to be exact. In NYC. In April. Apparently we skipped right over spring and went straight to summer. My entire wardrobe plan for the week had to change, and now I’m searching for inspiration. I’m always super envious looking at photos of Coachella, even though I probably would never like to go there in person. For now, I’ll admire the fashion from afar! The style at Coachella is geared towards summer and a lot of the time takes a turn towards the edgy. Loving it!
