Met Gala 2013: Chaos To Couture
May 7, 2013

In my opinion, there was more chaos than couture at the Met Gala last night. Maybe couture isn’t obviously sononomous with punk, but some people just completely missed the mark. Very few even knew one punk song, or band for that matter! When I think punk music I think The Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Rancid, Misfits, Black Flag, and The Sex Pistols. When I think punk fashion I think flannel (you were right, SJP), mohawks, leather, studs, and an attitude like no other. Nothing mattered but the music. Last night, the fact that the Goo Goo Dolls and Avril Levigne were brought up in reference to punk made me cringe, but I digress. My best dressed this year are purely based on the interpretation of the theme. Last night wasn’t about who wore it best, it was about who wore it punk. Before I get started, here’s my vision of punk:

And now, here are the few people last night I think got it, sort of, right.

Now just a quick note on who got it wrong: Uma Thurman and Kate Upton… really? Green floor length gowns and updos? Where did you think you were going? Kim Kardashian didn’t get the memo to not wear skin tight small prints when you have curves (much less a preggo belly). Ugh. Heidi Klum got lost on the way to a white party and Kate Beckinsale was missing about 4 feet of dress.

Who Wears Short Shorts
April 29, 2013

Not me, that’s for sure. As soon as we have a few good spring days here in New York, I know the summer weather isn’t far behind. Although I wish we could have a longer spring, it just hasn’t been in the cards the last few years and I doubt it will be this time! As other girls break out the short shorts, you can find me in cropped pants and dresses. Although I don’t typically have a problem with my no shorts rule, there are a few ladies out there who make me second guess myself. Are you a shorts girl or not?

Matchy, Matchy
April 23, 2013

Most of you know by now that I work for Coach, which means that I get a discount on Coach products, which means that I spend way too much of my paycheck every two weeks on said Coach products. Lately, it’s been the shoes. I may or may not have just ordered these, these, and these. Oops.

I’m very much a “matchy” person and although people say you don’t have to match your bag to your shoes, I always like to. My new mint driving shoes will go great with a mint Mini Tanner. So here it is, my favorite Coach bag/shoe combos. I decided to choose both shoes and bags I don’t have which in hindsight is a terrible idea, because now I want all of them. PS: the shoes are super comfy… seriously!

Pencils of Promise & Magnoodle

I received these cute magnetic bracelets in the mail last week. Not only are they a super colorful addition to your spring arm parties, but every one sold educates a child for TWO DAYS. Magnoodle is a symbol of community committed to supporting a world with greater educational opportunity for all. Magnoodle, Pencils of Promise, and I believe that it’s every person’s right to have a quality education, don’t you?

THAT Hat
March 26, 2013

Last week I talked a little about “that” skirt and same goes for this hat. Not everyone can pull it off but I sure do want to be one of the people who can. With this gross NYC weather happening I think we will have a few more weeks to practice the trend, unfortunately.

THAT Skirt
March 14, 2013

I’m always super jealous of ladies who can pull off those below the knee, above the ankle, in between mid-shin length skirts. Is that the technical term for them? This is exactly what I mean and I think I need to start introducing them starting this spring. Have you embraced this length yet?
