Style Me Pretty (both the site and the book) have been a huge inspiration to me while starting my wedding planning. I’m constantly stumbling upon inspirational photos of dresses, flowers, tablescapes… you name it. But yesterday I stumbled upon a styled shoot that I loved every. single. photo of. It just works and you’ve got to check it out.

Do you ever wonder why your house never looks like the makeover shows on TV or fashion bloggers houses when they are featured on other blogs? Well, it’s because of the styling. You might think that you can simply stack books on your acrylic coffee table or throw any matching pillow onto your couch, but that’s not always how it works. Some people have an eye for color, pattern, and size but other people may have to work on it. Here are some of my favorite examples of really, really good styling that don’t necessarily follow all (or any) of the rules.

Although colored jeans are all over the place, and I love them just as much as the next girl, nothing will ever replace the basic blue jean. Whether straight leg, boyfriend, skinny, or flair; blue jeans will always be my “go to”. Boring? I think not!

First of all I have to say I’m so excited about that Giants win! I was super confident that they would pull through, I totally wasn’t hiding behind a pillow with 58 seconds left in the fourth quarter. I lost a few Twitter followers due to my excessive comments about Victor Cruz last night but I assure you it’s over now! Back to talking about my first love, fashion!

I love how Alice & Olivia styles the models for their website. A lot of times, the product detail is hard to see, just on a plain jane model, or a mannequin, ew; but A & O goes all out. I guess that just goes to show the kind of girl they are looking to appeal to… a strong, confident woman who isn’t afraid to accessorize!
