I have two words for you. Happy. Friday.

If you are in the NYC area you know how weird this weather has been. It’s December, we need to make up our minds! One day it’s freezing rain and the next it’s 55. In my opinion if it’s December there should just be a nice sprinkling of pretty, sparkly snow everyday. Anyway, I’ve been talking about doing outfit posts for a while, but just never got the nerve to… so here goes my first ever outfit post taken in the frigid cold.

When I have the opportunity to be lackadaisical (I much prefer that word over lazy), I take it. In the rare, fleeting moments when I have not one thing to do you can find me lounging on the couch… magazine in hand. I’ve been searching for the very, very basics lately to upgrade my lackadaisical wardrobe from drab to fab (oh how cliché). I’m in the market for cozy tees in white, black and gray, off the shoulder sweaters, and cute knit shorts to lounge around in. What I’ve found is blowing my mind. Who knew lazy days could look so good?
This weekend was the greatest weekend of my life. Last time I talked to you all we had just moved into a new apartment in our dream neighborhood and we were focusing on decorating. Today, things are totally different… we’re engaged! I couldn’t be more excited and overjoyed that I can call Andrew my fiance. He is the perfect man for me and I can’t stop picturing me walking down the aisle and seeing him standing there in his dress blues. Before I start crying let me switch gears and say that my coffee table is already covered in wedding magazines. Let the planning begin!
My Dad is totally the coolest man on the planet. It’s not because he’s particularly stylish or on trend, but because he’s my Dad… he cracks me up to the point of tears and he would do anything for me. Every year on Father’s Day I get him a card, and a hug, and typically something that relates to fishing. This year though, I was thinking that I should be getting him presents that reflect just how cool he really is. Here’s some super cool dad inspiration.

Give me 77 degree weather for both weekend days and you can be sure to find me at the beach. What would make me even happier is that 77 degree weather on a beach in a time when I wouldn’t know what the sun was doing to my skin and I wasn’t expected to wear a bikini. Give me a one piece (or a super high waisted bottom like these) and I’ll lay on the beach for hours.

Hope you guys had a good weekend! You’re going to have to give me a small break during the month of May. From the 15th to the 25th we are in market with buyers from our distributor’s companies. My accounts from Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia will be coming to look at the new line which means I’ll either be at work or showing them around NYC. Before that, I’ll be working my butt off prepping for appointments! Either way, I’ll do my best to keep pinning and get some stuff onto the blog whenever possible, I promise.

Happy Friday! Do you ever have one of those days where you find yourself wishing for things to change and something better to come along? Well, it’s time to take your life into your own hands. If I’ve realized anything over the past year it’s that you need to make your own happiness. Don’t sit around hoping for better things or you’ll find yourself a few years later wishing you had that time back. On that note, everyone enjoy your weekend as much as possible!
